Thermal balance check of reducer and shaft load check

Thermal balance check:
The allowable thermal power value of the universal reducer is under specific working conditions (general ambient temperature 20°C, 100% per hour, continuous operation, power utilization rate 100%), according to the maximum allowable equilibrium temperature of the lubricating oil (generally 85 °C) determined.
When the conditions are different, it is corrected according to the corresponding coefficient (sometimes combined into one coefficient).
The selected reducer should meet the
PCt=P2×KT×KW×KP≤Pt
In the formula, PCt—calculated thermal power (KW);
KT—ambient temperature coefficient;
KW - operating cycle coefficient;
KP—power utilization factor;
Pt - reducer allowable thermal power (KW).

Check shaft load:
General-purpose reducers often have to limit the maximum radial load that the input shaft and output shaft can bear in the middle part of the shaft extension, which should be checked.
Lubrication and maintenance
Before putting into operation, load the reducer with the recommended type and value of grease. The reducer is lubricated with lubricating oil. For vertically mounted reducers, since the lubricating oil may not ensure reliable lubrication of the uppermost bearing, additional lubrication measures are used.
Before running, inject an appropriate amount of lubricating oil into the reducer. Gear units are usually equipped with oil filling holes and oil drain plugs. Therefore, the installation position must be specified when ordering the reducer.
The working oil temperature cannot exceed 80℃.
In addition to the combination reducer that is lubricated for life, filled with synthetic oil at the manufacturer, the reducer is usually delivered without lubricating oil, and has an oil filling and drain plug. The gearbox oil quantities listed in this catalog are estimates only. Set the position of the oil level plug according to the installation position specified when ordering to ensure correct oil filling. The oil filling amount of the reducer should be determined according to different installation methods. If the transmitted power exceeds the thermal capacity of the gear unit, external cooling must be provided.
